Taught by experts in the agriculture industry this course introduces students to remote sensing technology in precision, crop science, crop economics, data collection including processing and delivery, understanding the farmers decision process, who and how to approach farmers with your services and working with independent crop consultants. Also the students will work in a live environment using autonomous flight mapping applications.
According to Dr Roelof Botha, who conducted an economic impact study on the drone industry in 2017, Precision Agriculture accounts for the largest growth potential of the RPAS industry over the next decade. RPAS use in the agricultural industry will be used in drought management, disease detection, watering and spraying pesticides. The efficiency in which RPAS are able to perform these tasks are especially attractive and offers an intelligent and affordable alternative.
